HIS Software for Healthcare Management

Transform the management of your healthcare institution with K2BHealth's HIS: a comprehensive, scalable and secure solution that streamlines clinical and administrative processes, supports continuity of care and ensures regulatory compliance.

A modular, scalable and configurable solution for your healthcare institution.

Our HIS platform, designed to adapt to the needs of each organisation, is organised by level of care —outpatient, emergency, inpatient and operating theatre— and in each one brings together the clinical record and the operational management of the area on a single Electronic Health Record (EHR), with integrated scheduling and a connection to the Patient Portal.

What is a HIS and why does your institution need one?

A HIS (Hospital Information System) is a technology platform that centralises and manages all the clinical, administrative and operational information of a healthcare institution. HIS software digitises processes, improves coordination between teams, reduces medical and administrative errors, and delivers safer, more efficient care to patients.

Clinical operations, end to end

With an interoperability platform at its core, the HIS integrates with existing systems and keeps a single health record at the centre; every piece plays its role around it.

HIS modules

In each level of care, two submodules work side by side —the clinical record and the operational management of the area— on the same Electronic Health Record. They are implemented one at a time.

Outpatient Module

Scheduling

Schedules configured by professional, consulting room and equipment; slots generated around holidays, substitutions and unavailability; booking from the front desk, the contact centre, a kiosk or self-service. Waiting lists, reminders, no-show policies, telemedicine and video consultation.

Outpatient clinical record

Structured medical and nursing consultations, with prescribing of referrals, tests and medication. Well-child care, immunisation, antenatal care, dentistry and ophthalmology. Allergies, medication reconciliation and decision support at the point of prescribing. On signing, records are published to FHIR.

Emergency Module

Department management

Patient arrival, including the unidentified patient and the pre-announced ambulance arrival. Triage on a validated scale, list and map views of the department, observation stays, disposition on closing, handover between shifts and a mass-casualty mode.

Emergency clinical record

Medical and nursing progress notes, fast-track care, coded diagnosis, prescribing and administration, discharge and discharge summary. With the clinical safety an emergency service requires: allergies, early detection of deterioration and medication reconciliation.

Inpatient Module

Bed management

A single entry point for admission requests —from emergency, theatre, outpatient or entered manually—, bed allocation, a real-time ward map, transfers, isolation and the cleaning list after discharges.

Inpatient clinical record

A multi-role health record for the whole stay: progress notes from every role, admission assessment, scales, vital signs and care plan. Closed-loop medication —pharmacist verification, dispensing and dose-by-dose recording—, discharge and discharge summary.

Operating Theatre Module

Theatre management

Coordination: from the surgical request to the assigned theatre, with clinical validation, team assignment, overlap detection and theatre utilisation indicators. Sterilisation: instrument trays traced one by one, through their wash, sterilise and expiry cycle. Stock: reservation of the procedure kit, dispatch to theatre and traceability by batch.

Theatre clinical record

Safe surgery checklists, anaesthetic record, operative report, progress notes, post-anaesthesia recovery and discharge from theatre. Verifications and amendments to audit and correct any record.

Cross-cutting services

Not a level of care: they work the same way across all four modules, on any episode.

Pricing and Accounts

Every episode of care ends in an account. Price lists by payer agreement, generated automatically when the episode closes, with both the amount billed and the real cost on every line, so margin can be measured by episode, service or payer.

Clinical Alert Engine

Alerts defined in natural language that the system translates into an executable, versioned rule. Every firing is stored with the clinical evidence that triggered it.

Notices

The messages a system user needs to see without going looking for them: a cancelled operation, a batch about to expire, an announcement. These are not clinical alerts: those are about the patient.

Diagnostic Services

The fulfilment of any test order: scheduling, admission, sample collection, integration with laboratory, imaging and pathology systems, and the structured result back in the patient's record.

Thanks to its modular, scalable architecture, K2BHealth's HIS platform adapts to institutions of every size and speciality, keeping pace with their growth and technological evolution.

Benefits of a HIS

Implementing a hospital information system radically transforms the way a healthcare institution operates.

  1. Better quality of patient care

Immediate, centralised access to the electronic health record lets healthcare professionals make better-informed, faster and safer decisions. That translates into more accurate diagnoses, appropriate treatments and a more satisfying experience for the patient.

    Better quality of patient care
  2. Fewer medical and administrative errors

Digitised processes, electronic prescribing and structured records minimise human error, such as duplicated tests, medication errors or lost clinical information.

    Fewer medical and administrative errors
  3. Better use of resources and time

Automated administrative tasks, efficient bed and appointment management, and coordination between areas cut waiting times and improve the use of available resources.

Better use of resources and time
  4. Regulatory compliance and traceability

K2BHealth's HIS complies with local and international regulations on information security and data protection. Every action is recorded, digitally signed and traced, guaranteeing transparency and auditability.

    Regulatory compliance and traceability
  5. Better decision-making

Real-time dashboards and indicators let management and clinical teams make decisions based on hard data, improving planning, quality management and operational efficiency.

Frequently asked questions

Which institutions can implement K2BHealth's HIS?

Our system is designed to fit hospitals, clinics, private hospitals, primary care centres and any healthcare institution, public or private.

Can it be integrated with existing systems?

Yes. Our HIS software is interoperable and integrates with laboratories, pharmacies, imaging systems, medical devices and more.

How long does implementation take?

It depends on the size and complexity of the institution and on the modules involved. Implementation is progressive: you can start with one module and add the rest, following a roadmap agreed from the outset.

Does the system comply with local regulations?

Yes. We adapt the system to the regulations of each country and ensure compliance with international standards for healthcare and information security.

What support do you offer after implementation?

We provide ongoing technical support, updates, training for new users and strategic guidance to make sure the system evolves with the needs of the institution.

Does the HIS include features for patients?

Yes, through the Patient Portal. It is a product of its own that connects to the HIS and works on the same health record: patients access their information, book appointments, check test results and pay online. It can be implemented alongside the HIS or on its own.
