eClinic: management software for outpatient clinics
Scheduling, health record and charge capture in a single solution, for clinics and medical centres that see patients in consulting rooms. The technology that runs entire hospitals, at the scale of a clinic.
Request a demoFrom booking the appointment to charging the consultation, without leaving the system.
eClinic is K2BHealth's software for clinics and medical centres. It brings together scheduling, the electronic health record and charge capture under a single login, on the platform used by institutions handling thousands of consultations a day.
What is outpatient clinic management software?
It is the system where a clinic resolves a consultation from beginning to end: the patient books a slot, the professional records the visit and prescribes, and that consultation is priced against the payer or the private patient. Outpatient means care given in a consulting room —consultations, check-ups and specialities— without admission, surgery or an emergency department. Software for medical centres that covers all three stages works on a single patient record.
What eClinic solves, the software for medical centres
Three points, and the rest of this page develops them.
One single solution
The appointment that is booked is the one that opens the health record and the one that generates the charge. Whatever the starting point: the patient list the clinic already has is imported, and the system it already uses is connected.
Hospital-grade technology
eClinic is the outpatient module of the K2BHealth HIS, the one recording consultations in hospitals across the region today. It inherits its engineering and its robustness, at the scale of a clinic.
Subscribed, not installed
No servers to buy and no project to run. The plan follows the clinic's volume, and within weeks the team is already working with it.
A single software for clinics, from the appointment to the charge
A consultation goes through three stages —booked, seen and charged— on a single record. Between one and the next there is no handover of information: none of them keeps its own copy.
Three modulesScheduling
Reception books the slot from the front desk or the contact centre, and registers the patient's arrival.
Health record
The professional records the consultation and prescribes, with the form for the speciality being seen.
Charge capture
The signed consultation is priced against the payer's price list and is ready to be charged.
One and the same patient record
What eClinic includes: scheduling, health record and charge capture
Each module covers one stage of the clinic's work and all of them run on a single record. There are no integrations to maintain between them.
Scheduling
Everything the clinic schedules: consultations, tests, procedures, treatments and equipment.
- Parameterised diaries by professional, consulting room and equipment, with their time bands, slot duration and rules.
- Slots generated automatically or manually, respecting public holidays, cover and unavailability.
- Guided booking from the front desk or the contact centre, with the channel recorded on every coordination.
- Day list: appointments with their status —not announced, waiting, attended, did not attend— and arrival registration.
- Waiting lists, reminders and confirmation, no-show policies and overbooking.
- Professional absences: if someone is away, their slots are flagged for rebooking, one by one or in bulk.
- Treatments in series of sessions, for rehabilitation or any treatment that repeats.
Electronic health record
The consultation recorded in a structured way, with the forms for the specialities your clinic works in.
- Medical and nursing consultation: reason, vital signs, progress notes, diagnoses, procedures and instructions.
- Prescribing of referrals, tests and medication, with decision support: allergies, duplications and interactions.
- Forms by speciality: well-child care with growth charts, immunisation and card, antenatal care, dentistry with odontogram and periodontogram, ophthalmology with lens prescription, and rehabilitation.
- Health record viewer: every consultation for the patient in a single view, with each opening logged.
- Test results that come back to the record and close what was ordered.
- Clinical documents from templates: certificates, sick notes and reports.
- On signing, the record becomes definitive and correcting it requires a traced amendment. Each signed consultation is published in HL7 FHIR.
Charge capture
Every closed consultation becomes an account, with no manual re-keying.
- Price list by payer, with validity periods, value history and item types: service, professional fee, room use, materials.
- Account generated automatically when the consultation is signed, with the patient, their payer and the services provided. It moves from draft to final when administration confirms it.
- Amount and actual cost on each line, to know the margin per consultation, per professional or per payer.
- Export to the system the clinic already uses to issue the invoice, with traceability of each submission.
A hospital's engineering, at the scale of a clinic
eClinic is not a cut-down version written separately: it is the outpatient module of the K2BHealth HIS. What changes is the scope, not the engineering.
Capacity proven at scale
The same engine sustains institutions handling thousands of consultations a day. A clinic's volume sits well below its limit, and growth does not force the decision to be revisited.
- Thousands of consultations a day
- Hospitals and private clinics
Configured with your specialities
The health record brings the forms for what your clinic works in and leaves out the rest. No walking through another speciality's screens to record a consultation.
- Well-child care
- Immunisation
- Antenatal care
- Chronic care and screening
- Dentistry
- Ophthalmology
- Rehabilitation
Security and traceability
Access by role and profile, signing of clinical records and an audit trail of every access to a health record, with the regulatory compliance that health information demands.
- Role-based access
- Clinical signing
- Access auditing
Interoperable from day one
Clinical information is published in HL7 FHIR, the international standard, so it integrates with laboratories, imaging and the system the clinic already uses to issue invoices. To connect to a country's health network, or to unify the record across several institutions, you add Dandelion, our interoperability platform.
- HL7 FHIR
- Laboratories
- Imaging
- National networks
Your data is yours
Backups are included in the service and your information is never captive to a supplier: if one day you leave eClinic, you take a complete export with you.
- Backups included
- Complete export
Grows without changing system
If the clinic adds inpatient care, an operating theatre or an emergency department, the HIS modules come in without moving the information: the patient and their record remain the ones already there.
- Inpatient
- Operating theatre
- Emergency

The product already running large institutions
eClinic did not start life as a product for small clinics: it started as the outpatient module of the K2BHealth HIS, the one recording consultations in hospitals across the region today.
Real interoperability, not a connector
We built the interoperability platform that Uruguay's National Electronic Health Record runs on. HL7 FHIR is not an integration bolted on afterwards: it is how the product stores and shares information.
Support from people who know the business
A team working only in healthcare for more than 25 years, who understand how an appointment is booked, how a consultation is recorded and how it is charged, and who support the go-live and what comes after.
Subscribed, not installed: live in weeks
eClinic is used from the browser, with nothing to set up on the clinic's side: infrastructure, backups and updates are part of the service, and the plan follows the volume of your operation. Nor does going live end with handing over a username and a password.

Which clinics and medical centres eClinic is for
Institutions that see patients in consulting rooms and need to resolve the appointment, the visit and the charge without running a hospital project.
Clinics with several specialities
Diaries shared across professionals and consulting rooms, with the clinical form for each practice.
Medical centres and polyclinics
High volume of short consultations, several payers, and the need to know what was charged and what was not.
Speciality centres
Dentistry, ophthalmology, gynaecology: a clinical form built for that practice, not a generic one.
Maternal and child centres
Well-child care with WHO growth charts, immunisation card and antenatal care, in the same record.
Rehabilitation centres

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between eClinic and K2BHealth's HIS?
Scope. The HIS covers all four levels of care —outpatient, emergency, inpatient and operating theatre— and adapts in depth to the way each institution works. eClinic is the outpatient part of that product, packaged for a clinic: scheduling, health record and charge capture, configurable but ready to use. If your institution admits, operates or runs an emergency department, what you need is the HIS.
Does it work for clinics with one speciality, or with several?
Both. The health record is configured with the forms for the specialities the clinic works in: an ophthalmology centre works with its own only, without paediatric forms or antenatal care, and a polyclinic has those of each speciality, with diaries shared across professionals and consulting rooms. Each professional works with what their practice requires.
What can be configured? Is there custom development?
eClinic is configured, not programmed. Configuration covers each professional's diary —days, hours, slot length and consulting room—, payers and their price lists, the forms for the specialities the clinic works in, users and their profiles, and the clinic's own catalogues, such as document types and form options. K2BHealth leaves all of it loaded at go-live, and from then on the clinic manages it itself. What there is not is custom development for each institution: when an institution needs the system adapted to its own processes, what it needs is the HIS.
Does it integrate with the billing system we already use?
Yes. eClinic builds the account for each consultation, priced against the payer's price list, and finalises it so the system the clinic already uses can issue the invoice. eClinic does not issue the tax invoice itself.
Is there anything to install, or servers to buy?
No. eClinic is subscribed as a service and used from the browser: infrastructure, backups and updates are part of the service, and the plan follows the clinic's consultation volume.
How long does go-live take, and what support is there afterwards?
Weeks, not months, and K2BHealth does it: from discovery and loading diaries and price lists to training by role and support through the first week of real use. After that, business-hours support and updates are part of the service.
How is the price set?
By the volume of consultations the clinic handles: the plan follows its operation and grows with it. It includes infrastructure, backups, updates and support. For a proposal based on your clinic's case, request a demo.
What happens if the clinic grows?
You add what you need without changing system or migrating information: the HIS inpatient, emergency and operating theatre modules build on the health record and the patient list the clinic already has.
Is the data isolated, or can it be shared with other institutions?
eClinic publishes clinical information in the HL7 FHIR standard, so it can integrate with laboratories, imaging systems and the system the clinic already uses to issue invoices. To connect to a country's health network, or to unify the health record across several institutions, you add Dandelion, our interoperability platform: it is a separate product, not bundled into eClinic.
